Iran Unbowed: Iranian Artists Celebrated in UK
Coinciding with Frieze Art Fair, and in response to the current popularity of Iranian art on the international stage, Candlestar, in collaboration with the luxury five-star hotel, Hyatt regency London, is staging an exhibition of artwork by Iranian artists from 10–24 October 2009 in the hotel lobby.
In line with Frieze Art Fair’s focus on today’s most exciting contemporary art, “Iran Unbowed” will present contemporary artists from one of the world’s most vibrant young art scenes. The exhibition will feature a mixture of established Iranian artists, including Abbas Kiarostami, Parviz Tanavoli and Farideh Lashai; major young talents such as Pooya Aryanpour and Darioush Gharazad as well as two artists whose work has never previously been seen outside Iran.
